Why Psych?

This is one show that does not take itself too seriously. The premise is this: As the son of a cop, Shawn has supremely refined powers of observation. He and his childhood best friend, Gus, pretend that he’s psychic, complete with fingers held against the head visions. They then go on to help the San Barbara police solve crimes.

So, yes, it’s ridiculous. It is also extremely hilarious. They are committed to it. Every single episode, regardless of how serious the topic is, they manage to make it sound like it makes sense.
